I joined Hilti 20 years ago now, but it wasn’t the role I initially applied for that I was placed in. That didn’t matter though. From the offset I felt cared for and supported in my role and this provided a foundation for everything that followed.
 
I’ve seen new places, moved to new countries and experienced more projects than I could ever imagine. It wouldn’t have been possible without the encouragement, support and communication with management. They saw qualities in me that I hadn’t always noticed, they had this confidence that I was ready to take on a new challenge, and who was I to question that? I always felt excited and prepared for what was to come. Whether it was a new role or a new location. I’ve lived in Liechtenstein and worked at HQ, Shanghai, Singapore, North America and then returned to Singapore again. As a lover of travel, Hilti has really opened my mind to new cultures, places and experiences, and it’s pushed me outside of my comfort zone and into a community that I love.
 
Hilti is such a unique place, and despite the global size and scale of the business, that feeling of belonging and community has been a constant with every move. It’s never felt daunting. Everyone wants you to succeed and they’re there to guide you through that in any way they can. It’s a real experience, and brings me great pride.
 
I’m excited for what every day brings, and to be around my team. In my current role, I get to help others thrive in their careers and see them develop over time as they approach their goals. It’s like no other feeling. I have fun with great, passionate people and two decades in, I still feel like there’s a lot for me to achieve here.
 

I joined Hilti in the sales controlling department and after many years, I consider this as one of the biggest fortunes in my finance career. Through regular contact with the direct and indirect sales force, I gained a comprehensive business understanding and am using the acquired knowledge until now.

After a successful accomplishment of our internal International Talent Advancement program, I got the opportunity to lead the Credit Management department. Together with my team we decided to be more than just the financial counterpart of the company for our customers, but a significant contributor to the customer engagement and satisfaction. I am grateful to my colleagues who allowed me to learn, to make mistakes, to explore leadership and to take a lot of do’s and don’ts with me. As a preparation for the role as Finance Business Partner (CFO), I got an opportunity in parallel to my daily tasks, to support our accounting department with Month End and Year End closing activities to extend my functional expertise even further.

After that, my latest challenge was to move to another country, where I took over the finance management of 9 market organizations. Indirect leadership and the comprehensive communication structure make this role challenging on the one hand, and full of opportunities on the other.

When I joined Hilti, I could not even imagine that our journey together would last so long. During interviews with potential candidates, I often get asked why I've been working with Hilti for so many years. I work for the company that motivates me to do my best every day, cares for my private needs and business ambitions, provides learning opportunities and gives me freedom for entrepreneurship. What more could I ask for?

I grew up in the Austrian part of the Rhine valley, where Hilti counts among the region’s best-known (and best) employers.
 
Still a student at the University of Innsbruck, I already knew that I wanted to work for Hilti and set myself the career goal of performing their financial reports.
 
I chose all the right subjects for my studies and, in 2004, got the opportunity to do exactly what I’d dreamed of: to implement IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) for the Hilti Group.
 
In 2010, I moved with my family to the US and had a great international experience, both personally and professionally.
 
I really enjoy working in an international environment. What makes this so easy is that, wherever you are in the Hilti world, it feels like home. It has everything to do with our special global culture.
